DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources have learned that the Palestinian Islamic Jihad was responsible for firing four rockets into Israel on Saturday night: Three were intercepted by Iron Dome and the fourth landed on empty ground. The Iranian-backed terrorist group was making a point that, while a party to the long-term truce deal in negotiation between Hamas and Israel, Jihad reserved its independence to act whenever it sees fit. Nonetheless, Israeli retaliation targeted Hamas military facilities, not those of Jihad.
