Israel buys small island from Bahrain

An Israeli company has reportedly bought a small private island in Bahrain for $21.5 million during an auction by the Arab Auctions Company. The purchase is described as an US-Israeli transaction by the Himnuta company, a branch of the Jewish National Fund. The island is 9,554-square meters and houses skyscrapers which the report says will be used for evacuating Israelis present in the Gulf region in the event of war.
