Israel closes airport and points of entry for extended period

The Knesset on Wednesday passed into law the closure of Ben Gurion airport and all other points of entry to the country to hold back the entry of more coronavirus variants.  The law is effective for an “extended period” and may be lifted or re-imposed according to need. The British covid-19 variant is held responsible for the latest surge of the virus in Israel and other places, but covid-19 is mutating and producing more unknown strains.
