Israel counts 5 coronavirus fatalities, 2,030 confirmed cases
Two more deaths on Wednesday raised Israel’s coronavirus fatality count to five as the number of confirmed cases surged to 2,030, 37 in serious condition. After a 76-year old man with serous background illnesses died overnight Tuesday at Sheba hospital, doctors at Mayan Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Berak could not save a man of 87 who arrived in critical condition.
More than 5,000 coronavirus tests were conducted on Tuesday. The Health Ministry warned that with the confirmed cases doubling exponentially every three days, the hospitals are becoming overtaxed. More respirators are urgently needed.
