Israel does not object to a nuclear power station in Jordan

Dr. Shaul Horev, Director of Israel’s Atomic Energy Commission, denied Wednesday that Israel objects to Jordan building a nuclear power station for electricity. Addressing the UN nuclear watchdog in Vienna, he also denied Amman’s claims that Israel was disrupting this Jordanian project.
Dr. Horev did however voice strong opposition to an Arab initiative supported by the Obama administration to hold a conference in Helsinki in the coming months on a nuclear-free Middle East.
