Israel-owned cargo ship holed by explosion in Gulf of Oman

Iran is suspected of causing the explosion which struck the hull of the Bahamanian-flagged MV Helios Ray cargo ship owned by the Israeli entrepreneur Rami Unger in the Gulf of Oman. The crew and vessel are safe. En route from Saudi Arabia, the ship is proceeding to its next port of call at Singapore. The UK Maritime Trade Operations, which monitors navigation in a sea that has seen former Iranian attacks, has ordered an investigation of the incident.
