Israel police recommend resuming lawmakers’ visits to Temple Mount
Israeli police chiefs are recommending the renewal of Knesset Members’ visits to Temple Mount under certain restrictions, a year after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu imposed a ban in the light of a surge of Palestinian terrorist activity that focused on a purported threat to Al Aqsa. The recommendation to lift the ban has been put before Netanyahu, who imposed it equally for Jewish and Arab lawmakers last November.. According to a TV report, the police wioud attach provisos for such visits: Prior notice ato and scheduling with the police and no bodyguards, media attendance or speeches.
