Israel remembers its fallen soldiers and victims of terror

At 11 a.m., Israelis will be silent for two minutes in memory of 23,741 fallen soldiers and security agents and  3,150 victims of terrorism. Bereaved families are spreading out in the military graveyards accompanied by young soldiers. Since last year, 56 uniformed victims joined the list plus 46 who died of their injuries and 13 victims of terrorist attacks.  A special ceremony takes place at the Jewish Agency compound in Jerusalem to commemorate the victims of anti-Semitism around the world, including those who perished at San Diego and Pittsburgh synagogues. US Ambassador David Friedman will attend. Tuesday night, the central Memorial Day event taking place at the Western Wall, heard the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi  pledge: “We will  never rest until every last soldier returns from the battlefield.”
