Israel thwarts plots to bomb event hall, kidnap IDF soldier

It was revealed on Thursday that Israel's security forces have arrested a terror cell that planned to bomb an event hall in the southern part of the country as well as carry out an attack for the purpose of kidnapping and murdering an IDF soldier. The cell of the Islamic Jihad organization was led by a resident of Khan Yunis who was arrested September 21 at the Erez Crossing on the Gaza border as he tried to enter Israel. Also arrested were three other Arabs, two who were residing illegally in Israel and one who had been granted residency under the country's family unification law. The details on the arrests were released with the filing of an indictment against the four at a district court in Beersheba.
