Israel to cut its annual payments to UN by $6 million
Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, announced Friday that his country will cut its annual payments to the global body by $6 million in response to the Security Council's December 23 resolution that states that Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem are illegal. Danon said in the message on his Twitter account that "This amount represents the portion of the UN budget allocated to anti-Israel bodies. It is unreasonable for Israel to fund such entities." Israel pays about $40 million worth of dues to the UN each year.
