Israel to receive first F-35 fighter from US today
Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter met on Tuesday at the Pentagon and discussed a series of topics including defense cooperation and security challenges in the Middle East. On Wednesday Lieberman will participate in a ceremony in Fort Worth, Texas to mark the delivery of the first F-35 fighter, called the "Adir" in Hebrew, to Israel. Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook issued a special announcement on the Defense Department's website saying that the IDF is the first foreign military to receive the stealth fighter, which is manufactured by Lockheed Martin.
