Israel tops world chart of covid vaccinations with more than 1m first doses
According to a global tracking website affiliated with Oxford University, Israel is far ahead of the race with a rate of 11.55 vaccination shots per 100 people after administering more than a million jabs in two weeks. Bahrain comes next with 3.49 and the UK at 1.47. The US has fallen short of its target of vaccinating 20 million people by the end of 2020, reaching just 2.78 million.
Israel expects a temporary slowdown this month in order to raise more vaccines from the pharmaceutical manufacturers to replenish its fast depleting stocks..
