Israel, Turkey to hammer out final details of reconciliation deal in Rome
Negotiating teams from Israel and Turkey will meet in Rome on Sunday in an effort to reach a reconciliation agreement that will end their rift since 2010. The two sides have reached understandings regarding the operations of Hamas in Turkey under which Ankara will not allow the terrorist organization to plan or carry out any military operation against Israel from its territory.
Last week, Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said during a meeting with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan that he accepted the agreement. It is still not clear whether the same goes for the military wing of Hamas, the Izaddin al-Qassam Brigades, which no longer recognizes Mashaal as leader.
