Israeli air force targets Hamas Gaza base after Palestinian balloons set fires
The Hamas facility near Beit Lahya in northern Gaza was bombed Thursday night after a day-long Palestinian assault on southern Israel of balloons bearing explosives and incendiary devices. Three fires at the Beeri nature preserve in southern Israel were brought under control before causing injuries. Another balloon to which an explosive device was attached was discovered 60km away near the southern town of Arad and detonated in a controlled explosion. More blazes were reported from the Strip in the Hof Ashkelon and the Eshkol regions.
This was Israel’s second air strike against Hamas in a week. The first. targeting a cement factory for building tunnels and bunkers for terrorist personnel, was sparked by a rocket launched Sunday night that was intercepted in time by an Iron Dome battery.
