Israeli air strikes against 30 terrorist targets in Gaza

The Israeli air force struck 30 terrorist targets in southern Gaza Wednesday night after the pro-Iranian Jhad Islami claimed responsibility for firing up to 70 rockets in a continuous barrage during the day against the Shear Hanegev and Eshkol regions and the towns of Sderot and Netivot. There are no reports of Palestinian casualties. Many thousands of Israeli citizens warned by red alerts ran for shelter under the rocket offensive and were told to stay there until further notice. There were no immediate reports of Israeli casualties but damage was caused to property in Sderot downtown. Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon warned that Jihad Islami would rue its offensive against Israeli citizens and Hamas too would be held accountable for failing to restrain terrorists operating from the Gaza Strip.
