Israeli Arab who joined Nusra Front sentenced to five years in jail
Amin Sanuvar, a 23-year-old Israeli Arab from the village of Yasif in the Galilee, was sentenced on Thursday to five years in prison, one year of conditional imprisonment and a fine of 35,000 shekels for joining the Nusra Front. According to his indictment, he travelled to Turkey in July 2014 and from there to Syria where he received weapons and bombmaking training, participated in operations and carried out services for the outlawed organization. Before returning to Israel, after he suspected that the Israeli authorities were monitoring his communications, he deleted the correspondence from his time in Syria, told his family to detete all of their correspondence with him and destroyed the mobile phone and SIM card that he used in Syria, the indictment said.
