Israeli army team digs 17 survivors out of the rubble
The IDF Homefront team Thursday pulled 17 survivors from the rubble, including children, some of them babies. Capt. Linoy Damari reported that after picking up faint tapping, they discovered two sisters and were able to rescue them. The sisters reported hearing sounds further below and after digging down another 20 meters, a father and daughter were recovered alive. The chances of finding live victims under the masses of destroyed buildings are fading. The Israeli team promises to stay on the ground well into next week in hopes of miracles. Their field hospital’s doctors and nurses are tending injured, sick and infirm survivors around the clock.
