Israeli Consulate in NYC shuts after receiving envelope with white powder
The envelope with unidentified white powder delivered Friday at the Israeli consulate in New York City also contained a letter threatening Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu shortly before his arrival. The prime minister, having wound up his Latin America tour after meeting the presidents of Colombia and Mexico, is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly next week and meet with President Donald Trump.
A state of emergency was declared at the consulate and it was shut down pending examination of the white powder.
