Israeli defense minister, top IDF brass visit northern border

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman along with the IDF chief of staff, Lieut. Gen. Gady Eisenkot, and other senior officers toured Israel's northern border area on Tuesday. They visited observation posts, received briefings from field commanders and met with local mayors. The senior IDF officers included Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi, the outgoing head of the Northern Command who is the incoming deputy chief of staff, as well as officers from the Northern Command and the IAF. During the tour, Lieberman thanked Maj. Gen. Kochavi for his service in the post and wished good luck to Kochavi's successor, Maj. Gen. Yoel Strick.
