Israeli, Jordanian pathologists at Palestinian minister’s autopsy
The Palestinian Authority will permit Israeli and Jordanian pathologists to attend the post mortem of its Minister for Settlement Affairs, Ziad Abu Ain, who collapsed during a clash at Turmus Aya in the northern West Bank with Israeli soldiers who are accused of beating him up. The IDF has offered to hold a joint investigation into the cause of the Palestinian minister’s death. Mahmoud Abbas called the incident “barbaric” but did not go through with his threat to suspend security cooperation with Israel. Security sources say that the Palestinian leader can’t afford to give up this cooperation since he relies on Israel’s input for keeping the extremist Hamas in check.
