Israeli Patriot downs drone over Golan town of Quneitra

Intervening for the first time in Syrian army-rebel fighting on the Golan, the Israeli army Sunday downed an unidentified drone over the Quneitra with a Patriot anti-missile missile. The incident appeared to mark a policy departure compared with last Thursday. Then, the IDF did not interfere when Syrian planes bombed rebel positions in the same area, although they were in violation of the 40-year old disengagement pact which bans Syrian military entry to the separation zone, which is policed by UNDOF.
