Israeli planes strike Gaza after rocket fire
The Israeli military has attacked targets in the Gaza Strip in response to a rocket launched from the Palestinian territory into Israel.
Saturday’s air strikes were the first since the 50-day war this summer.
The Israeli military said its aircrafts targeted Hamas infrastructure in the southern Gaza Strip.
"The IDF will not permit any attempt to undermine the security and jeopardize the wellbeing of the civilians of Israel," an IDF spokesman said. "The Hamas terrorist organization is responsible and accountable for today's attack against Israel."
A rocket fired from Gaza earlier fell on open ground in Eshkol, causing no injuries.
