Israeli police: Palestinians hatched Qusra incident as provocation

An intensive police inquiry has found that the charge brought against Jewish settlers of torching six vehicles in the Qusra village near Nablus was a Palestinian fabrication, used as the spark to justify violent Palestinian disturbances across the West Bank this month. After questioning witnesses and applying advanced forensic methods, the police found big gaps between the Palestinian complaints and the evidence. For instance, the settler’s identity card which Palestinian villagers claim to have belonged to a settler and allegedly found on the scene in fact belonged to a soldier who reported its loss somewhere else months ago.
