Israeli security cracks Bat Yam bus bombing attack
Following an intensive joint operation, the IDF, police and Shin Bet rounded up 14 members of a Bethlehem pro-Iranian Jihad Islami cell in connection with the attempted bombing of the Bat Yam bus on Dec. 22. It was the largest terrorist cell ever captured on the West Bank. Among them was a Palestinian Security Force officer. Four members planted the bomb on the bus, which was cleared before it went off, and four were organizers or accomplices. It is reported that one or more members were Bedouin from southern Israel.
