Israeli sources: Berlin postpones submarine sale memo

An Israeli source reported Tuesday that the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Germany for the sale of three new Dolphin 2-class, air-independent propulsion submarines to Israel was postponed indefinitely in light of Israel’s investigation into possible corruption over the deal.  This report was not confirmed by any German source.

In police custody are Micky Ganor, the local agent for ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems; a retired Navy officer; and retired Rear Adm. Avriel Bar-Yosef, a former deputy National Security Council chief. They are suspected of bribery, conspiracy, breach of trust and money-laundering.
