Israel’s benchmark lending rate slashed to 0.75%

Bank of Israeli governor Dr. Karnit Klug said Monday that the lending rate was cut from 1% to 0.75% because of a slowdownin in the economy and the need to weaken the shekel against the dollar to boost exports.
