Israel’s coronavirus death toll rises by eight in 24 hours

Another eight people died of covid-19 complications from Sunday night, raising the  total since the outbreak began to 362. The number of new active cases remained high – 1,151, bringing the total to 19,300, with 151 in serious condition and 47 on ventilators.

The IDF has mobilized 120 Home Command reservists to assist medical staffs in hospital corona wards and aid distressed citizens in coronavirus hotbeds under partial lockdown. The Defense Ministry is also organizing 25,000 food baskets for delivery to distressed citizens in the locked districts. Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein agreed to open three new “corona hotels” as quarantine centers. The Home Command is tasked with running the centers which already hold 3,700 people in isolation.
