Israel’s coronavirus figure upped by 50 to 883
Another 50 confirmed coronavirus cases raised Saturday’s total from 833 to 883 by evening, with 15 in serious or critical condition. The first Israeli fatality, Aryeh Even, 88, was infected at the Nofim senior citizens home in Jerusalem where all 150 tenants are in quarantine after nine were infected.
Economic concerns: More than 530,000 people registered this week for unemployment pay, many on unpaid leave, raising fears that many will have no jobs to go back to when the coronavirus pandemic is over.
The catastrophe in Italy deepened tragically with the addition of 800 coronavirus fatalities in the last 24 hours raising the total number of people who have died from the disease to 4,820. The worst hit North is under full curfew.
