Israel’s covid-19 death toll crosses 1,000 mark

Ministers are mulling tightening restrictions on “red” towns prior to extending the clampdown to the rest of the country as the coronavirus infection level continues to stay at worrying levels. Another 1,482 new cases were reported early Sunday, pushing the total up to 129,173, of which 26,062 were active and 434 were in serious condition. The death toll rose to 1,007.
