Israel’s floriculture industry names new flower for Indian PM Modi

One of Israel's top agricultural research centers announced Tuesday, during a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that it has named a recently-developed, fast-growing white chrysanthemum after the Indian leader. The Danziger flower farm was Modi's first stop after arriving at Ben Gurion airport on Tuesday. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu accompanied Modi to the state-of-the-art agricultural research facility. Afterwards, Modi visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum and then paid his respects at the grave of Theodore Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, in Jerusalem.
Modi is to meet Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday morning before talks with Prime Minister Netanyahu in the afternoon. He is also scheduled to have a series of meetings in Tel Aviv later in the day.
Modi is the first Indian premier to visit Israel.
