Israel’s Oranit checkpoint reopened following bomb scare

A vehicle with two Palestinians broke through Israel's Oranit checkpoint near Qalqilya on the Trans-Samaria Highway on Wednesday afternoon. The driver then stopped the vehicle, got out and fled along with the other Palestinian. One of them was captured by Israeli policemen, and the checkpoint was then closed in both directions as a bomb squad checked the vehicle to determine whether it was booby trapped. No explosive device was found, and the checkpoint was reopened.
