Israel’s presidential election Tuesday, June 10 – after all

The Knesset vote for Israel's next president will take place on time on Tuesday, June 10, after all, the Knesset Speaker decided Sunday after consultating with the House's legal adviser and faction leaders. There were calls to pospone the vote after two candidates dropped out over scandals hanging over their heads. Four are still standing. Polls place former Speaker Reuven Rivlin (Likud) in the lead. The post is mostly ceremonial.
