Israel’s State Comptroller bans donations for Netanyahu’s legal team

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was Sunday denied permission to accept $2m in donations to fund the legal team defending him in three corruption investigations pending against him. He claims he is innocent in all cases. The State Comptroller’s Permit’s Committee disallowed Netanyahu’s acceptance of donations from a cousin and friends, and ordered him to pay back $300,000 to a donor. His lawyers will appeal the decision before the High Court.
