“Israel’s strike on Iranian missile depots in Iraq” never happened

Israeli media reporters and “experts” have contended in the last 48 hours that the explosions at two pro-Iranian militia missile depots in south Baghdad on Monday, Aug. 12, were caused by Israeli air strikes. As “proof” they display “satellite images” of a big fire at one of the sites. DEBKAfile has established conclusively that the explosions were not caused by air or missile strikes but by a fire. The “Iranian missiles” allegedly destroyed were in fact mostly mortar shells.
