Istanbul police foil bombing of US consulate and synagogue

In a recent operation against al Qaeda, Turkish security forces arrested 11 suspects and confiscated plans of the US consulate, a synagogue in Istanbul’s Balat neighborhood and a church. They also seized 25 kilograms of A-4-type plastic explosives, five rifles, five guns, several USB flash disks, CDS and remote-controlled explosive mechanisms. The explosives were delivered to the suspects 10 days ago.
