Japan’s Abe calls snap election amid Korea crisis

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday his decision to dissolve parliament on Thursday and call a snap election would not distract his government from responding to North Korean threats. He vowed to step up the pressure if Pyongyang failed to halt its missile and nuclear weapons development. Two North Korean ballistic missiles flew over Japan in recent weeks.
