Jerusalem court hears Netanyahu’s case to dismiss charges
The Jerusalem District Court on Sunday morning heard arguments from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s lawyers in support of the demand to dismiss the corruption charges against him before witnesses are called in the next stage of the trial. A central argument was that the police had acted improperly by systematically bullying witnesses to force them to tell lies. Co-defendants Shaul Elovich and his wife Iris share Netanyahu’s arguments.
The prosecution asked the court to disregard the prime minister’s claims and proceed with the trial in February as per schedule.
