Jerusalem police again close Temple Mt to Jewish visitors
For the second day running, police Tuesday sealed Temple Mt. to Jewish visitors marking Tisha Be’Av, the annual day of fast and mourning for the destruction of the Jewish Temples on this site. Places of entertainment are closed in Israel by law. Hundreds of Jews trying to visit the Temple site in Jerusalem were blocked by police as tens of thousands of Muslim Palestinians attended Ramadan prayers at al Aqsa. The police said they had information of Palestinian plots to harm Jewish pilgrims to Temple Mt. They also reported Muslim harassments and shouts of Allahu Akbar.
