Jerusalem security ramped up for Yom Kippur

Judea and Samaria are sealed off up until Saturday midnight for Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. The Gaza crossings will also remain closed except for humanitarian emergencies. Border Guard contingents in Jerusalem have been reinforced with volunteers and roadblocks put up to safeguard the town against rock-throwing incidents and other disturbances.
