Jewish professor beaten to death in Lviv, Ukraine

Prof. Leon Freifeld, Chief Orthopedist of Lviv, was beaten to death near his home Saturday.
The Jewish Press reports that the police arrested as suspects three Arab students, who were expelled from the local medical school for low marks and took their revenge on him. The Russian language press quotes witnesses to the crime as reporting that Prof. Freifeld was attacked and murdered by a single assailant who was drunk.
The doctor’s brother, a lecturer at Ben-Gurion University, flew to Ukraine Sunday.
