Jordan threatens to execute ISIS prisoners if pilot killed
Jordan has reportedly threatened to expedite the trials of prisoners affiliated with ISIS, some of whom face the death penalty, if the group kills a Jordanian pilot it is holding hostage. Dep FM Yasuhide Nakayama, who leads Japan’s emergency response team in Amman, said negotiations over the fate of the two hostages ISIS is threatening to kill, Japanese journalist Kenji Goto and Jordanian pilot Moath al-Kassasbeh, are deadlocked. Jordan has demanded that ISIS show proof that the pilot is still alive before proceeding with the release of the female suicide bomber, Sajida al-Rishawi, who was under sentence of death.
