Jordanian infiltrator found Israeli border defense system wide open
The Jordanian who infiltrated northern Israel Friday and tried unsuccessfully to pull an Israeli woman out of her car near Ashdod Yaacov was described as ‘deranged’ – a convenient pretext often used in the past to dodge claims of negligence. DEBKAfile notes however that it is getting harder to explain away the numbers of “deranged” Jordanians, who manage to beat all the high-tech sensors and other alert systems fixed at the border fence, cross over undetected and return home with a valuable harvest of intelligence. This one was captured after being shot and wounded by a kibbutz security guard. But the formal IDF statement on the episode omitted to mention that this infiltrator may have been a spy sent over by ISIS-Jordan to test the feasibility of a cross-border incursion for terror.
