Kerry to speak Wednesday on his Mid East peace vision
US Secretary of State John Kerry will offer a "comprehensive vision" of how to revive the Israel-Palestinian peace process in a major speech on Wednesday. "We haven't given up on this and we don't think the Israelis and Palestinians should do either," State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters. He said the notion that the administration orchestrated the United Nation’s Security Council vote opposing Jewish settlements in occupied territory is “just not true”. Denying the Israeli charge that the US administration had crafted and pushed resolution 2334 through on Friday, Toner insisted that the US had merely "abstained from voting." Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sharply rebuked the Obama administration for its passage.
