Khamenei urges everyone to help stem the region’s worst covid-19 outbreak

“Let everyone play their part to break the chain of transmission in the short term and save the country,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a video conference with lawmakers on Sunday, after Iran reported more than 12,800 deaths. He rapped “some people who do not even do something simple like wearing a mask.” On Sunday, health officials announced 194 deaths from the COVID-19 disease and 2,186 new cases on the past 24 hours after 221 deaths on Thursday. In total, 257,303 cases have been reported in the country.
