Khamenei: US enmity will not cease with Trump departure

 
Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said: “Enmities are not limited to Trump’s America and will not end just because he has left office.” He spoke during his first public engagement since he was said to be in declining health and the day after Joe Biden’s election victory was confirmed. “Do not trust the enemy, this is my explicit advice,” h esaid. Bolster the strength to “nullify” sanctions, but it they are lifted,, “we should not delay it for even an hour.” Khamenei added: “You witnessed what Trump’s America and Obama’s America did to you, and went on to warn:  “Do not rely on (others’) promises to solve the people’s problems (and) do not forget enmities.”

Khamenei’s warning came after President Hassan Rouhani signaled Tehran’s openness to president-elect Joe Biden’s signals of willingness for dialogue including a return to the table on the 2015 nuclear deal.
