Kim Jong Un names fourth army chief in two years
The replacement was signaled by a Korean Central News Agency report Thursday referring to Ri Yong Gil as Chief of General Staff of the Korean People’s Army, indicating that Kim Kyok Sik had been replaced. Ri becomes the fourth army chief to serve Kim Jong Un since he took over the North’s 1.2 million strong army in December 2011. No reason was given for the reshuffle.
