Kissinger: China’s Mid-East role complicating factor for Israeli Iran strike
Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger wrote this week that China’s role in brokering the Saudi-Iran rapprochement means that Beijing’s deepening Mid-East involvement must complicate Israel’s decisions for preventing a nuclear-armed Iran. “Israel’s leaders have viewed a preemptive military strike against Iran as a last resort as Tehran moves ever closer to becoming a nuclear-weapons state,” Kissinger noted. “However, he said: “Pressure on Iran will now have to take into account Chinese interests in the region.”
