Knesset convenes next Tuesday on Netanyahu’s immunity request

Speaker Yuli Edelstein announced on Sunday that he has called the outgoing Knesset into plenary session next Tuesday to discuss setting up a special panel for a decision on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s application for parliamentary immunity from prosecution ion on the three corruptions charges against him. The date falls 34 days before the general election. Edelstein, under opposition pressure to convene the session, has protested that the debate on the issue would be toxic and no better than a circus for election propaganda.
