Knesset dissolves after endorsing election date

Israel’s 120-member parliament unanimously endorsed the prime minister’s decision to call a general election on Jan. 22, 2013 – and dissolved.  Five opposition Kadima members applied to bid in the Likud pre-election primary for places on the national list. They were told to take their chances.
