Knifeman tries to force way into Paris police station; shot dead

A man armed with a knife, wearing a suspected suicide vest which turned out to be fake, yelled "allahu akbar" and tried to force his way into a police station in northern Paris on Thursday afternoon. He was shot and killed by policemen. An Islamic State flag was found in his possession. The incident occurred at the Goutte d'Or police station iin the 18th district. Thursday is the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
